The Hinks Haulage fleet includes six-wheeled rigids from three Actros model generations supplied by Midlands Truck & Van
Line of succession. At up to 12 mpg, new six-wheeler raises the economy bar.
Brian Hinks knows a good thing when he sees one, which explains why all nine of his trucks wear three-pointed stars. The latest arrival from Midlands Truck & Van means the Hinks Haulage fleet now includes 26-tonne curtainsiders from each of the last three Mercedes-Benz Actros model generations.
Unusually for a six-wheeler that works only in the UK, the Actros 2536L has a range-topping GigaSpace cab and a long-range, 500-litre fuel tank. With its optional, colour-coded bumpers and door mirror covers, external sun visor, and illuminating, grille-mounted star, as well as light bars, airhorns and alloy wheels, it is turning plenty of heads.
“I like my trucks to stand out from the rest,” explains Mr Hinks. “Our drivers are out all week so I’m also happy to make their lives that bit more comfortable by choosing high-spec vehicles and equipping their cabs with creature comforts such as fridges and microwave ovens.”
Oldbury-based Hinks Haulage undertakes nationwide same- and next- day collections and deliveries of a wide variety of commodities. Its trucks are all 26-tonners, with the exceptions of two Actros tractor units. “Midlands Truck & Van’s Wolverhampton Service team provide great back-up,” adds Mr Hinks.
