Today we caught up with Lucas to welcome him to the team and discuss how he is finding his feet as the New Coventry Van Sales Talent Trainee for Midlands Truck & Van.
Lucas has Joined the established Coventry team consisting of Gez O’Reilly – Coventry Van Sales Manager and Van Sales Executives Joe Conner, Dave McKay and Geoff Evans, where we know he will be in excellent hands as between them they have an impressive 101 years of service, knowledge, and experience.
Lucas will be joining the prestigious Mercedes-Benz van talent training programme on the next cohort, but in the meantime, he will be getting to grips with all the Mercedes-Benz van range and focusing on the Electric Vans whilst building his customer base.
So, let’s talk experience, hobbies and career aspirations and get to know Lucas better.
At the young age of 19 Lucas has a wealth of experience in the working world from, house removals to used vans sales and now he is looking to develop his career further within Midlands Truck and Van.
When we asked Lucas why he chose to apply for the Van sales role he said” working for a main Mercedes-Benz Dealer was a no Brainer and great opportunity that i wanted to pursue, I Have always had a passion for Mecedes-Benz as my family have work for the brand and I knew it would be the perfect fit for me and my career aspirations, Being able to join the Van Talent programme will give me the best starting point in my career and help me develop my skills to the best of my ability.”
Lucas loves to travel and experience different cultures and their nightlife one of his favourite things to do is go raving with his mates.
Lucas has been to many holiday destinations from Amsterdam to Thailand and many more, when asked where his dream destination would be its between Australia and Bali both fantastic choices, Lucas also did a 4-year stint living in America with his family, but is now back on home turf and experiencing all the nightlife has to offer in places like London, Milton Keynes and Sheffield, apart from the raves and holiday’s Lucas’s biggest passion is his football.
Lucas is a big Burnley supporter, he even played for his favourite team at the tender age of 5 and as he developed his skill, he played for Preston North End and Northampton town, what a fantastic opportunity for such a big football lover.
Lucas has told us he is very impulsive, strong minded and no obstacle is too big to overcome, he accepts the challenge and finds a solution to anything he faces, which will be a great asset to the role he has now taken on.
Lucas aspires to keep climbing the corporate ladder and brings to the table great ideas of how he would like to gain traction in the Van sales world he is motivated to use all avenues available to him within Midlands Truck & Van including teaming up with the marketing department and getting creative with social media posts.
One day he hopes to sit in the managers chair, so watch out Gez it looks like you have the next Mercedes-Benz rising star nipping at your feet!
