We would like to make our customers aware of an upcoming road restriction that may affect deliveries and travel routes.
From Monday 2 March 2026, a 7.5-tonne weight restriction will be introduced on London Road between the ASDA roundabout and Tonbridge Road. This means that vehicles over 7.5 tonnes will no longer be permitted to enter or exit London Road at the ASDA roundabout.
Signs will be put up in advance so that drivers can choose an alternative route before reaching the restriction. HGVs travelling north or south will be expected to use the A45 and A444 instead.
This change will initially be introduced as an 18-month trial period under an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order. During this time, the scheme will be monitored, and feedback will be welcomed before any decision is made on whether the restriction becomes permanent.
If you operate or arrange deliveries using vehicles over 7.5 tonnes, please ensure your drivers are aware of this change and plan routes accordingly.
