Midlands Truck & Van Announces New Managing Director, Successful Merger, and Full eTruck Readiness Across Eight Locations.

Midlands Truck & Van Limited is pleased to announce a significant milestone in the evolution of its business, marked by the appointment of a new Managing Director, the successful merger with Intercounty Truck & Van, and its dedication as the first Mercedes-Benz Trucks dealer group in the UK to be fully compliant to service and repair eTrucks across all eight of its locations.

New Leadership Appointment

Effective 1 October 2025, Michael Carolan assumed the role of Managing Director. Michael brings more than 25 years of experience within Midlands Truck & Van, having joined the business in 1999 as an Apprentice HGV Technician. Over his career, he has held numerous operational and leadership roles, including Service 24hr Breakdown Technician, Workshop Controller, Service Manager, and Aftersales Director. His appointment reflects his long-standing commitment to the company, its employees, and the commercial vehicle industry.

Merger Completion and Expanded Presence

Midlands Truck & Van completed its merger with Intercounty Truck & Van, a sister company within Ballyvesey Holdings Limited in October 2025. Operating under the Midlands Truck & Van Limited name, the combined business now spans eight strategically located sites: Wolverhampton, Coventry, Birmingham, Wellingborough, Milton Keynes, Boston, Dunstable, and Peterborough. This merger establishes one of the UK’s largest premium Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealer groups.

Supported by Mercedes-Benz Trucks, the merger delivers a unified operating model, standardised processes, and enhanced operational efficiency. Customers across all locations benefit from consistent, high-quality service, while the business leverages the scale, expertise, and resources of an expanded dealer network.

Full eTruck Readiness Across All Locations

The expanded Midlands Truck & Van business is the first Mercedes-Benz Trucks dealership group in the UK to be fully eTruck ready across all eight sites. Each location features dedicated truck workshops equipped for all service inspections and repairs of electric trucks. This capability is supported by Mercedes-Benz-trained technicians specialising in electric vehicle technology, alongside dedicated aftersales teams and workshop infrastructure designed for the requirements of electric heavy goods vehicles.

On the sales side, Midlands Truck & Van offers a comprehensive eTruck proposition, including specialist eConsultancy support led by Martin Kelly. Experienced sales executives are available across all locations to guide customers through their transition to electric trucks.

Leonhard Niemann, Head of Dealer Network Development and Training at Daimler Truck UK Limited, commented:
“Midlands Truck & Van achieving eReady status as the first dealership in the UK is a significant step forward for the Daimler network. Their capability and preparedness reflect the standards required to support the next generation of electric trucks and position them as a reference point for electrification across the industry.”

Heiko Selzam, Managing Director of Daimler Truck UK Limited, added:
“The transition to electric trucks requires more than new vehicles - it requires the right partners. Midlands Truck & Van’s eReady status demonstrates that they are fully equipped to support customers today and into the future, and we congratulate them on reaching this important milestone.”

Platinum MPRS Accreditation Across All Sites

In addition to these achievements, Midlands Truck & Van has secured Platinum status at all eight workshop locations under the newly launched Maintenance Provision Rating Scheme (MPRS) — the highest possible rating within the scheme.

Developed in collaboration with key industry bodies and supported by Mercedes-Benz Trucks, the DVSA, the Department for Transport, and the Traffic Commissioner, the MPRS sets new national standards for commercial vehicle maintenance.

Commenting on the announcements, Managing Director Michael Carolan said:

“This is a defining moment for Midlands Truck & Van. The merger strengthens our footprint, our capability, and our customer proposition, while our full eTruck readiness demonstrates our commitment to supporting customers through the transition to zero-emission transport. I am proud to lead the business into this next chapter and to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team.”

He added: “Achieving Platinum status across all locations is a testament to the professionalism, dedication, and hard work of our entire team. Their commitment to excellence has truly set us apart.”

The recognition further reinforces Midlands Truck & Van’s leadership in aftersales service and its continued investment in people, processes, and equipment to deliver best-in-class support to commercial vehicle operators across the UK.
